Accessing UNMH Cerner Millennium Applications Remotely

 

There are two components to accessing Cerner Millennium applications remotely please start with section one to ensure you are authorized and have access before trying to log in remotely

 

Section I – Authorization and Approval 

 

  1. Go to Learning Central at https://learningcentral.health.unm.edu/plateau/user/login.jsp

 

    1. Log in with your UNM NetID

                                                               i.      For some assistance see https://hospitals.unm.edu/employees/lms/faqs_unm_net_id.shtml

                                                             ii.      If you are not a UNM employee you will need to contact Computer Learning Technologies at 272-5569.

    1. Find and take Course CLT 101-A (UNM Hospitals Citrix Software Authorization for Home Access to PowerChart)

 

  1. Once you have successfully completed the course and been granted access, you will receive an e-mail notification with detailed instructions within 2 business days.

 

Section II – Accessing Applications Remotely

*Do not use the Cisco VPN*

**This will only work from outside of the Hospital network.  Outside clinics like NE Heights are still considered inside the Hospital network**

 

  1. Go to the http://hospitals.unm.edu/employees/ and click on the For UNMH Employees link.  You will see Cerner Millennium Applications on the left hand side of the page.  Once you click on that link you will be at the login page ()

 

  1. At the blue and black login page, log in with your HSC NetID (usually same as Groupwise)

  1. In the left pane, log in with your HSC NetID (for Citrix Access) again and you will see an IE icon called "Cerner Applications"). 

 

  1. After clicking on the Cerner Millennium Applications icon you will see all the applications. Choose your application and log in with your Cerner Millennium account.

PC Remote Access to Citrix 4.5

Any doctors requesting access to citrix from home we are no longer handing out disks.  The procedure will be the same where the doctor comes in, signs the agreement but now you will add them to a group in AD called CAG Access and direct them to log in at an external web site. These sites only work externally so if you get calls that they are having problems accessing it, make sure they are not trying the site from an internal computer

The provider may also sign the form on line in Learning Central: UNM Hospitals Citrix Software Authorization for Home access to PowerChart

From Internet Explorer browser:  (Save to Favorites) 

External access (for those authorized to access the farms externally) there is now just one URL for both Citrix and Millenium Applications.

  1. Log in with your Novell Username and Password

 

 

  1.  Sign on again to Citrix Access Gateway using your Novell User name and Password.

Note: Some users may have an older version of Citrix, you will need to delete Citrix and install download as requested. To do so select your name at the top to get the option to download the citrix receiver.  

 

  1. Select Detect Clients

 

4  Click Download

5. Click Run

6.  installation process will begin

7. Click Run

8. Screen Preparing to install flashes / Now Installing

9. The installation process will complete

10. Select Successful

 

  1. You may get a notice to run the add-on “wfica” / click bar and Run ActiveX Control

              If you do not get this bar skip to 12.

                  a. Run ActiveX Control

               b. Press Run

             c. Detect Clients

12.You will then see your application set and can securely access Citrix from home.

         Connect to Cerner Millennium Applications

13. Preparing to connect

14. Select program

Remote Access for Mobile Devices:

 

1. Goto the application store for your device.  Search for and download the citrix receiver.

2. Once this is installed open the application and select manual configuration.

 

3.  These are the settings required to run Citrix and Cerner applications.

 

Internal web sites for mobile devices on the UNMH network:

 

All Applications – – Both Citrix  and Cerner can be accessed by the following settings (i.e both powerchart and isite)

Address:  https://citrixweb.health.unm.edu

Username:  Active Directory Username

Password:  Active Directory Username

Domain:  Health

Access Gateway:  Off

 

External web sites for mobile devices connecting outside of the UNMH network (using Citrix Access Gateway):

 

All Applications – Both Citrix  and Cerner can be accessed by the following settings (i.e both powerchart and isite) 

Address: https://citrixweb.health.unm.edu 

Username:  Active Directory Username

Password:  Active Directory Username

Domain:  Health

Access Gateway:  On

Enterprise Edition

Domain Only

 

4.  Once these settings are entered correctly you should be able to log on to the application list using your UNM hsc id.

5.  Select the application and login using the appropriate login (powerchart login for powerchart applications and UNM HSC id for others like i-site)

 


 

This is old information that I do not believe is accurate anymore - follow the above instructions!

 

PC Remote Access to Citrix 4.5

For remote access to Power Chart from home you will need to complete an acknowledgment of use to fulfill UNMH requirements of security. If you have already done this you do not need to do this again. As of Jan 1  access to Powerchart from home will be restricted to the method described below.

 
To sign the agreement use Microsoft Explorer do not use Firefox.

Go to Learning Central

https://learningcentral.health.unm.edu/plateau/user/login.jsp

Log into learning central using your NetID and password at:

 To find the course:

Type “Home” in the search catalog

The course is  "UNM Hospitals Citrix Software Authorization for Home access to PowerChart course in Learning Central".

Please read the warning. Click Start test.

The course is two pages: 1. Check I agree on the first page after reading the agreement then make sure you click next to take you to the second page grade and you are done.

 
Once you've completed the course then the Help Desk staff will add you to the Citrix Access Gateway (CAG) Access list which will give you access to https://him.health.unm.edu and send you an e-mail.  After you've been notified that you have access, follow the instructions below to log into Powerchart. 

 

Accessing Powerchart from off-site:

 

1.  Go to https://him.health.unm.edu (do not use the VPN)

2.  At the blue and black login page, log in with your HSC Netid (usually same as Groupwise)

3.  In the left pane, click on the powerchart icon and log in..

 

Accessing iSite from off-site:

1.  Go to https://employeeportal.health.unm.edu (do not use the VPN)

2.  At the blue and black login page, log in with your HSC Netid (usually same as Groupwise)

3.  In the left pane, log in with your hsc netid again and you will see a folder for PACS click on the folder and then click on the iSite icon  and log in remember in the Log on to change to Active Directory.

If you have not done the iSite training this can be done in learning central search the catalog using”PACS” and then take the iSite training

 

 

From a web browser:  (Save to Favorites)

Troubleshooting

If you are still getting the "the file login.aspx from 159.140.84.58..." error from https://him.health.unm.edu please check the "do not save encrypted pages to disk" option in IE.  Just follow these directions:
 

1. Open an Internet Explorer session

2. On the menu bar click on Tools and select Internet Options

3. Click on the Advanced tab

4. Scroll through the list to the Security section at the bottom

5. Check the box next to the option "Do Not Save Encrypted Pages To Disk"

6. Click OK to close the window and initiate the changes

It will also help to add https://him.health.unm.edu to your trusted sites list in IE.
