UHC Emergency Department Flow Collaborative

The Hospital is currently participating in a University Hospital Consortium project to decrease the length of stay in the Emergency Department.

This is a multidisciplinary effort, involving physicians and nursing from the ER and the floor, as well as unit directors.

We meet on a monthly basis in the small conference room in the administrative offices on the 1st floor of the main hospital (see schedule below.)

 

We are currently doing observations in the ER and talking with members of bed administration.  Below are some of the flow documents that have been generated by various admission personnel.  As well, there is a link to the current list of ideas and concerns regarding patient flow that was generated by the hospitalist group.
